Tracey
Speech Language Pathologist
I graduated from Arizona State University in Spring 2025 with a Master of Science in Speech and Hearing Science and am excited to begin my first year as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Desert Valley Pediatric Therapy. This is my second career—prior to entering the field of speech-language pathology, I taught 4th grade for 10 years. During that time, I saw the tremendous value in supporting children’s communication needs, which sparked my interest in furthering my knowledge in this area.
I was born and raised in South Africa, and our family relocated to Phoenix in 2016 for my husband’s job. That transition opened the door to new opportunities and inspired me to pursue a career in speech-language pathology after witnessing the positive impact the field had on my students who received services. I’m passionate about working with the pediatric population and am especially interested in supporting children with communication and feeding needs, helping them build essential skills for everyday connection and participation.
Outside of work, I love traveling, hiking, visiting national parks, and enjoying adventures with my family. On weekends, you can often find me cheering on my kids at their soccer and baseball games. As a family, we enjoy volunteering together and are active members of the Ahwatukee chapters of National Charity League and Boys Team Charity. I also love cooking and gardening (with limited success in the desert) and hosting get-togethers at our home.
